Fall is fast approaching, and with my most favorite time of year comes bake sales, church functions, and an overall need for comfort food. (Crockpot recipes for the win!!)
Anyway, I had to come up with a cute way to decorate some cupcakes for a cake walk at my church’s annual bazaar, and this cupcake was something I adapted from Pinterest. Of course the Pinterest cupcake I tried to emulate looks MUCH better, but my version didn’t turn out too bad. Like I’ve said in other blog posts, I’m all for easy recipes. By the time I’ve worked out for the day, written or edited, cleaned, mowed, washed the car, the dog, blah blah blah…I don’t have a lot of time to throw on an apron and spend a few hours in the kitchen. I made these cupcakes from a box. The frosting is bought. All I did was crumble some Oreo’s over the frosting, cut an Oreo in half and slap that on the top, and then cut a candy bar piece and put that on there as well.
Could this be any easier?
Still, when I posted this picture on Facebook, everyone called them fancy, so I thought I’d share the picture and the directions here as well. If you’re like me, and you have very little time to make cupcakes for some function – here you go. Took less than an hour from start to finish, but everyone gushed over them. Win/win!
