Charity Miles App

Charity Miles

I walk. A lot. It’s my go-to form of exercise, and so it was a bit of a given that I would one day stumble on this app. A friend of mine always took selfies after her morning walks and posted them to Facebook and Instagram, and just under her sweet face it would look something like this picture here. The picture would state how far she’d walked, who had sponsored her, and what charity she chose to give to.

Seriously. This app is SWEET. If you choose to walk for exercise, go get this app. It’s absolutely FREE, and whoever sponsors you that day gives your charity 25 cents for every mile you walk/run or 10 cents a mile if you choose to bike. It doesn’t seem like much, but it really adds up.

Check out their WEBSITE.

Here are some of the charities you can pick from:

Truly, there is no reason not to do this if walking or jogging is your choice of exercise. I’ve used the app for some time now, and I have yet to run into any in-app purchases. In fact, most of the time you log in to use the app, you get five cents toward your charity of choice just for clicking on one of their sponsors’ links. You don’t have to buy anything, just click.

This app tells you your streak (two days, ten days, whatever it is). It gives you the option to walk/run indoors or outdoors. My only advice to you is to keep your phone in your hand while you are walking on your treadmill, otherwise it doesn’t track very well.

Since my husband was in the Marine Corps for 12 years and we knew people who had come back missing limbs, I always choose the Wounded Warrior Project for my charity, but I can choose another charity at anytime. You can do a different charity every time you use the app, or you can go month to month – it’s all up to you.

Download this awesome app today and make your steps count!
