December 2018 was a little tough here in the McClure household! Hubby was in the hospital with encephalitis for a week, and I ended up with a head cold from hell (probably from being in the hospital with him). His eyesight even went wonky, to the point where he was seeing double, and he had to wear an eye patch. I told him he was just trying to be as sexy as Dan Crenshaw (picture insert), but whatever (eye patch is off and eyesight is better now). Suffice to say, December SUCKED.
We still wake up every morning and take pain inventory as though we’re 90 years old. “Oh, your head hurts? My back is so sore. And my ears are popping. I can’t bend over without the top of my head wanting to pop off my body. What’s wrong with your foot? Hand me the Ibuprofen. Here’s some Theraflu. Drink it. You’ll feel better. I wouldn’t advise you to smell it, just toss it back like you used to do to Tequila when we were in our twenties, and while you’re at it, pass me the heating pad.” <– True stories. All of this was said and repeated several times the past few weeks. I’m over it. Seriously.
All joking aside, he’s better and I’m on cold meds, so we’re getting back to normal.
Here are a few pictures from December. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!
This was our trip to the South Dakota Capitol (before his stay at the hospital). Heading to Pierre, SD, to see the Christmas at the Capitol has become an annual tradition for my family. It is a beautiful experience. Next year I hope to add seeing the Russian Ballet’s Nutcracker to our annual tradition, but we were a little under the weather this year, so…
I have never been more ready to say goodbye to one year and embrace the year to come. Looking forward to releasing Dakota Storm in 2019, along with Dakota Lightning. Mostly, I’m looking forward to shaking this last month off and getting back in shape and getting healthy for 2019 <– I know! I’m so original! 🙂
